Chùa Trúc Lâm Yên Tử, là ngôi chùa Phật giáo Việt Nam đầu tiên được xây dựng bên ngoài lãnh thổ Việt Nam sau khi chiến tranh Việt Nam kết thúc và là ngôi chùa đầu tiên của Cộng Đồng Người Việt Tỵ Nạn Cộng Sản được thành lập vào năm 1978 tại Thành phố Santa Ana.
The Birthplace of the Vietnamese Community in Orange County (*)
The City of Santa Ana will hold a press conference to commemorate Santa Ana as the birthplace of the Vietnamese community in Orange County. The press conference is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 11:00 a.m. at the Truc Lam Yen Tu temple is the first Vietnamese Buddhist temple built outside of Vietnam after the end of the Vietnam War.
According to the Little Saigon Business District, the first Vietnamese business in Orange County started on First Street in Santa Ana in 1976. In 1977 Little Saigon also started in Santa Ana with a few stores and it has now grown into an area of nine square miles reaching the cities of Westminster, Garden Grove and Fountain Valley. Little Saigon is home to the largest Vietnamese community in the United States and it is a cultural and commercial capital for nearly 300,000 Vietnamese people outside of Vietnam.
